The Chattanooga TaiJi Community’s celebration of International TaiJi Day is open to the general public, includes demonstrations of various forms of TaiJi and begins at 10 am EDT on the last Saturday of April each year.
International TaiJi Day is celebrated at this time around the world in more than eighty countries. TaiJi, an ancient Chinese Martial Art, is also a Mind-Body wellness promotion system practiced worldwide. It consists of combined gentle, rhythmic movements, healthy breathing, relaxation and mental focus to reduce stress, build stamina, increase vitality, and enhance the immune system. The CTJC’s goal is to provide education about the health benefits that TaiJi offers and promote the use of this ancient and traditional Chinese health modality among individuals, in businesses, healthcare facilities, schools, and various institutions in the Chattanooga Area.
