While looking for an exercise that would be easy on my joints and good for counteracting the stresses of life, I found a T'ai Ji class in Chattanooga.

The class was being taught by Steve Long, through Erlanger Hospital's Health Link Plus Program. That first class, in 2002, began my 7 ½ year journey as an ongoing student of Dr. Zibin Guo, for this form of martial arts. To this day in 2009, I continue to read about, study and learn T'ai Ji Quan. My interest has even led me to become an instructor; and I was certified by Dr. Guo on March 15, 2007, to teach beginning T'ai Ji.

When I'm not involved with T'ai Ji or the local Chattanooga T'ai Ji Community, I work as a speech and language pathologist for the Speech Language and Reading Center in Chattanooga. My bachelor and masters degrees, in my area of study, are from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Other interesting activities are part of my life. However, I have found T'ai Ji to be an enduring one, and a beneficial experience that I can recommend to others.
